What they need

Are you ready to take the next step in your People & Culture career?

We're looking for a capable and people focused People & Culture professional to join our team based at our Support Office in Wiri on a six-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone looking to move into an advisory position after gaining experience in a Human Resources Coordinator role, or for someone with 1-2 years of generalist HR who is keen to continue building their career or an experienced Advisor or Senior Advisor seeking a hands-on role within a dynamic operational environment.

Depending on the experience and capability of the successful candidate, the scope and level of responsibility may be tailored accordingly.

You'll parter with leaders across a diverse operational workforce, providing practical people advice and support across a broad range of employee relations, recruitment, performance management and organisational initiatives.

About MOVe Logistics

MOVe Logistics is a freight and logistics company listed on the NZX and ASX, delivering essential transport, warehousing and logistics services throughout New Zealand.

At MOVe, we're focused on building a high-performing, people-centric culture where safety, accountability and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. Our People & Culture team partners closely with the business to support leaders, strengthen capability and create great employee experiences.

About the Role

As a People & Culture Advisor, you'll work closely with leaders and employees to provide practical people support and guidance across a broad range of HR activities.

You'll assist with employee relations matters, recruitment, onboarding, performance processes and day-to-day people advice, while developing your skills and knowledge through exposure to a wide range of HR initiatives and projects.

Based primarily at our Wiri Support Office, this role may require occasional travel to other Auckland sites to support operational teams and build relationships with leaders and employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line advice and support to leaders and employees on people policies, procedures and employment matters.
  • Guide and support managers with employee relations activities including investigations, disciplinary processes, performance management and attendance issues.
  • Support recruitment activities, including job advertising, interviews, reference checking and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee lifecycle processes including variations, promotions, transfers and exits.
  • Support leaders with performance and development conversations.
  • Assist with implementation of People & Culture initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain employment documentation and employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance the employee and leader experience.
  • Support engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand employment legislation, company policies and best practice HR processes.

What You'll Bring

  • Approximately 2 years' experience in an HR Coordinator role, or 1-2 years' experience in a generalist HR or Employee Relations focused role.
  • Sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence building relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in warehousing, transport, logistics or other operational environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.

What's in it for You?

  • An opportunity to grow your HR career within a supportive and experienced People & Culture team.
  • Exposure to a broad range of HR, employee relations and business partnering activities.
  • Involvement in meaningful projects and initiatives across the wider business.
  • A collaborative and down-to-earth culture where people genuinely support one another.
  • The chance to make a real impact in an organisation that is continuing to evolve and improve.
