Contract Duration: 18 Months

Position Overview:

GSD Search is partnering with an established Property & Casualty insurance organization to identify an experienced P&C Statistical Reporting Consultant for a long-term consulting engagement.

This position will support the statistical data reporting team and Actuarial Department, ensuring accurate and timely regulatory and statistical reporting across commercial Property & Casualty insurance lines, including Workers' Compensation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing and submitting statistical data to organizations such as the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB), Insurance Services Office (ISO), and independent state bureaus.

We're looking for someone who understands statistical reporting requirements, can investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies, and work independently to maintain compliance with regulatory and bureau reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract, collect, prepare, validate, and submit statistical data to NCCI, WCIRB, ISO, and independent state statistical reporting organizations in accordance with established statistical plans and reporting deadlines.
  • Support Workers' Compensation and other commercial P&C statistical reporting requirements across multiple states and jurisdictions.
  • Interpret statistical plans, edit definitions, reporting specifications, bureau circulars, regulations, and applicable statutes.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting errors, bureau edits, criticisms, and inquiries within required timelines.
  • Assist with regulatory data calls from state insurance departments and other regulatory agencies, including preparing and providing data to the Compliance Department.
  • Analyze and reconcile policy, premium, exposure, and claims data to ensure accuracy and completeness of statistical submissions.
  • Participate in investigations and resolution of fines, reporting discrepancies, and inquiries from regulatory agencies and statistical reporting organizations.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Compliance, IT, Underwriting, Claims, and other internal teams to identify and resolve data quality and reporting issues.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and implementing reporting processes, reports, and tools to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain documentation of statistical reporting procedures, submission requirements, data corrections, and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Property & Casualty insurance industry experience, preferably within commercial insurance lines.
  • Knowledge of commercial P&C insurance products, insurance department requirements, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Experience working with insurance statistical reporting data, including policy, premium, exposure, and claims information.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to investigate reporting discrepancies, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and regulatory organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct hands-on experience preparing and submitting statistical reports to NCCI, WCIRB, ISO, and/or independent state bureaus.
  • Strong understanding of statistical plans, edit definitions, submission processes, and reporting deadlines.
  • Experience responding to bureau criticisms, regulatory inquiries, and data calls.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation statistical reporting requirements.
  • Experience analyzing bureau circulars, insurance regulations, and applicable statutes.
  • Familiarity with P&C policy administration, claims, and statistical reporting systems.
  • Strong Excel skills; SQL experience for data extraction, validation, and reconciliation is a plus.
  • Experience developing or improving statistical reporting processes and data quality controls.
  • Previous consulting or contract experience.
