Panel Engineer

Purpose-

The role is responsible for monitoring and optimizing chemical plant operations to support safe, efficient and quality production. It ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements while enabling timely response to operational abnormalities, process deviations and emergency situations to maintain stable plant performance.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Monitor plant operating conditions and process parameters to ensure operations remain within established operating conditions.
• Identify, monitor and escalate process deviations and operational abnormalities to the Shift In-Charge for timely corrective action.
• Support achievement of production volume and product quality targets through effective operational control.
• Maintain operational log sheets, log books, equipment performance records and production-related information accurately.
• Execute emergency response and shutdown activities during fire, gas leakage, spillage and other critical operating situations.

Qualifications • B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering

Experience

3 to 8 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process operations.

Minimum: 3 years & Maximum: 8 years

Chemical plant operations or process operations experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour

Knowledge of chemical plant processes, operating parameters and production processes.

• Knowledge of statutory, health, safety and environment requirements and safe chemical handling requirements.

• Process parameter optimization for stable operation, quality and resource utilization.

• Equipment condition monitoring to ensure safe plant operation and performance.

• Rapid decision making under pressure during plant abnormalities and emergencies.

• Strong safety orientation and commitment to safe operations and regulatory compliance.

• Inter-shift communication and effective shift handover with accurate operational status communication.

• Remote operational coordination with field operators and plant personnel for operational control and shutdown activities.

• Troubleshooting process and equipment issues, including diagnosis and resolution of process deviations and operating abnormalities.
