Paper Trader (Precious Metals)

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve individual profit targets through active dealing and trading in precious metals (spot, forwards, swaps, options, futures, and loans).
• Independently develop and execute trading strategies while managing portfolio positions and market risk within authorized limits.
• Provide timely, professional quoting and order execution services to both internal and external clients.
• Monitor global market trends, conduct in-depth research, and prepare market analysis, forecasts, commentary, and reports to support management’s business strategies.
• Contribute to the development of new precious metal and commodity products and business initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (SFC, HKMA) and internal risk management policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Quantitative Disciplines, or related fields.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in precious metals or bullion derivatives trading, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
• Solid knowledge of precious metals products (spot, forward, swap, options, loans).
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and risk management skills with proven ability to generate trading profits.
• Proficiency in Excel and / or VBA is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
• Familiarity with Hong Kong and global precious metals markets (e.g., SGE, COMEX, LBMA, HKGE) is preferred.
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Junior Paper Trader.
