Paralegal

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our growing real estate investment and property management organization specializing in manufactured housing communities and multifamily residential properties. This role will be responsible for legal and regulatory administrative functions, including eviction filings, manufactured home titling and transfers, business entity registrations, state licensing and compliance management, agency registrations, corporate filings, and support for real estate transactions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of property management operations, landlord-tenant procedures, corporate compliance requirements, and state regulatory processes. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Property Management Legal Support

-      Prepare, file, and track eviction actions in accordance with state and local landlord-tenant laws.

-      Coordinate with attorneys, courts, property managers, and constables regarding eviction proceedings.

-      Maintain complete and accurate records of legal actions and court filings.

-      Prepare and manage notices, demands, lease-related correspondence, and supporting documentation.

-      Monitor legal deadlines and court dates.

Manufactured Housing Compliance & Titling

-      Process manufactured home title applications, transfers, corrections, and lien filings.

-      Coordinate title surrender, conversion to real property, and title retirement processes where applicable.

-      Research and comply with state-specific manufactured housing regulations.

-      Maintain inventory records and ownership documentation for homes held within company communities.

-      Interface with state motor vehicle departments, housing agencies, tax assessors, and title offices.

Corporate Compliance & Entity Management

-      Form and register LLCs, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.

-      Maintain corporate records and compliance calendars for multiple entities.

-      Prepare annual reports, foreign registrations, amendments, and dissolution filings.

-      Ensure entities remain in good standing with Secretary of State offices and regulatory agencies.

-      Coordinate registered agent services and corporate governance documentation.

Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

-      Manage state and local licenses required for real estate ownership, property management, manufactured housing operations, and related business activities.

-      Prepare and submit licensing applications and renewals.

-      Register entities with state agencies, tax authorities, housing departments, labor departments, and other regulatory bodies.

-      Track compliance deadlines and renewal requirements.

-      Research changing regulations affecting property management and manufactured housing operations.

Real Estate Transaction Support

-      Assist with property acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and due diligence reviews.

-      Review organizational documents, title reports, surveys, permits, and corporate records.

-      Coordinate document collection and closing deliverables.

-      Maintain legal and transaction files.

Administrative & Legal Support

-      Draft correspondence, legal forms, applications, resolutions, and compliance documents.

-      Organize and maintain electronic and physical legal files.

-      Conduct legal, regulatory, and public records research.

-      Support internal stakeholders on compliance, licensing, and entity management matters.

-      Manage special projects related to company growth and expansion into new states.

Required Qualifications

-      Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal Certificate preferred.

-      3+ years of paralegal, legal assistant, compliance, corporate governance, or property management legal experience.

-      Experience with evictions, landlord-tenant matters, real estate, manufactured housing, or property management operations preferred.

-      Familiarity with Secretary of State filings, LLC formations, annual reports, and business registrations.

-      Knowledge of licensing and regulatory compliance procedures.

-      Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and online governmental filing platforms.

-      Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and jurisdictions simultaneously.

-      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

-      Experience in manufactured housing communities (MHC) or multifamily property management.

-      Multi-state corporate compliance experience.

-      Familiarity with title and lien processes for manufactured homes.

-      Experience working with outside counsel, courts, and government agencies.

-      Knowledge of affordable housing, community operations, and real estate investment structures.
