About The Job Paralegal About Our Client A well-established offshore law firm with offices across major offshore jurisdictions, London, and Singapore. Known for commercial, pragmatic advice and a collaborative, client-focused culture, with a strong reputation in International Private Client (IPC), corporate, and finance work.
About The Role The firm is seeking a Paralegal to support partners and associates in its Cayman Islands IPC team. The role blends legal support (research, drafting, document review) with practice support (matter administration, CDD, billing, CRM, and BD logistics) — a varied, hands-on position for someone organised, proactive, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities Legal Support
- Review and summarise legal documents and diligence materials
- Conduct research and produce clear notes with sources and conclusions
- Draft routine documents from precedents, escalating complex issues
- Check documents for accuracy (names, dates, formatting, execution blocks)
- Help prepare client correspondence and reports
- Attend client meetings, take notes, and follow up on action points
- Prepare execution packs and coordinate signing logistics
Matter & Practice Support
- Maintain organised, system-based filing
- Manage file opening, CDD tracking, and chasing outstanding items
- Support document production for transactions (bundles, signature copies)
Billing
- Coordinate billing — narratives, time entries, draft bills, WIP monitoring, approvals, and liaison with finance
- Maintain billing discipline and visibility on matter status
CRM, Marketing & BD
- Keep CRM updated with contacts and interaction notes
- Support BD activities, including events, travel, and logistics
- Assist with various projects to keep the practice running smoothly
Qualifications & Experience
- High school or degree level education
- Paralegal qualification a plus, not required
- Prior experience in a legal environment preferred
- Strong IT/document management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn Cayman Islands law
Core Competencies
- Strong organisation, time management, and prioritisation
- Detail-oriented, disciplined, and methodical
- Able to use initiative and work independently
- Flexible, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Committed to CPD and ongoing development
- Compliant with all policies, including AML/CTF regulations
Why This Role Stands Out
- Join a respected offshore firm with a strong global footprint
- Varied role offering full exposure to the client matter lifecycle
- Direct work with partners/associates on high-value IPC matters
- Collaborative culture focused on quality and long-term relationships
- Genuine career development with strong CPD support
