PARALEGAL COORDINATOR
Case Management & Coordination | AMPR Consulting | On-Site Beverly Hills, CA | Full-Time
ABOUT AMPR CONSULTING
AMPR Consulting is a Beverly Hills-based claims management and risk consulting firm specializing in construction defect matters. AMPR represents real estate developers by coordinating expert investigation, litigation support, and case resolution from initial claim through final settlement.
POSITION OVERVIEW
AMPR Consulting is hiring a Paralegal Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of its active construction defect caseload. This is a case management and coordination role well suited to candidates with a legal, litigation support, or paralegal background. The Paralegal Coordinator will act as the operational backbone across a portfolio of active matters, working directly with AMPR partners, retained experts, opposing counsel, and clients to keep every case moving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management & Coordination
- Manage day-to-day administration of an active portfolio of construction defect claim matters (typically 10+ concurrent matters)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients — HOAs, developers, and property owners — ensuring timely, professional communication
- Track case timelines, milestones, and deliverables; maintain up-to-date chronological case logs
- Coordinate with retained experts and consultants (structural engineers, forensic investigators) on inspection scheduling, testing dates, report timelines, and findings; schedule multi-party expert meetings and manage mediation date holds
- Coordinate with legal counsel — both AMPR partners and outside or opposing counsel — on case correspondence, deadlines, and document requests
- Monitor insurance claim status and coverage-related correspondence with carriers and adjusters
Reporting & Documentation
- Draft the monthly client update package for each active matter — key case activity, annotated attachments, parties and policy summary, defect summary, and a running timeline of events — and carry it from draft through client-ready final
- Maintain organized case files in SharePoint/OneDrive per AMPR's document management standards
- Convert case notes and call summaries into structured internal case updates and client-facing billing entries
- Support senior consultants with meeting preparation, briefing materials, and follow-up tracking
Billing & Case Administration
- Enter and maintain case activity in Clio Manage, following firm billing format and conventions
- Prepare and review client invoices and monitor trust account balances
- Handle the general administrative work that keeps the office running — correspondence, expense reports, document formatting, and vendor or subscription administration
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency across the caseload
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a legal, litigation support, or paralegal role — law firm, corporate legal department, insurance defense, or claims/litigation environment
- Experience with construction defect claims, insurance coverage, subrogation, or real estate litigation strongly preferred
- Paralegal certificate or degree a plus, but not required; candidates with equivalent hands-on legal experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent, deadline-driven matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable serving as a primary client contact
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint), Clio Manage or comparable case/practice management software, and Adobe Acrobat
- High attention to detail and comfort with law-firm-style billing and documentation conventions
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Monthly client packages delivered on schedule for every active matter, with case activity entered in Clio within hours
- Clear, well-organized work product — reports, timelines, and correspondence
- Fast, professional responsiveness to clients, experts, and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to take on increasing case volume over time
