About the role
A Paralegal is legally trained, and familiar with established legal procedures, formats and systems. He/She performs certain duties of a lawyer, such as taking instructions from clients, drafting standard documents and conducting moderately complex legal research. He/She performs tasks that require problem-solving and analysis of issues involving specific areas of legal operations. While he/she may not practice law or advise clients, he/she carries out duties that are administrative and routine in nature. He/She usually assists senior legal professionals and executes instructions from them.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct legal research, investigate facts and check documents
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Manage workplace legal technologies
- Undertake legal operations on criminal and civil litigation, corporate or commercial transactions, and private client work
- Support legal discussions and client interviews
- Undertake litigation support functions
