Paralegal

Overview
The Paralegal will provide legal support to Aligned Providers' (AP) General Counsel by conducting legal research, preparing legal agreements under the supervision of AP's General Counsel, and assisting with contract and case management. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare provider agreements, medical terminology, and experience in a corporate legal department of a healthcare company or healthcare firm. This individual should have a strong background in using SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review legal documents, such as employment agreements, amendments and renewals
• Generate contracting forms and/or utilize document management software
• Organize and maintain case files, including gathering and organizing documents, scheduling deadlines, and tracking the progress of current pending legal requests and renewals
• Conduct in-depth legal research using online legal databases and other resources on a wide range of healthcare law topics, including HIPAA, medical malpractice, licensing, and regulatory compliance
• Assist with e-discovery processes, including collecting, processing, and reviewing electronic documents
• Communicate with clients, including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and third-party clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries
• Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and state/federal specific laws
• Assist in investigations into potential claims or compliance issues
• Prepare and file legal documents, including electronic filing
• Other duties as assigned

Reporting: This position will report to Aligned Providers' General Counsel, or designee.

Education

• Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in contract and provider employment agreement drafting
• Significant experience in drafting medical provider contracts and working with employment contract forms
• Experience in healthcare law required
• Experience with legal research and writing
