Paralegal (Litigation)

Full-Time Litigation Paralegal – Boutique San Mateo Law Firm (On-Site)

Our litigation team is seeking a skilled, experienced paralegal to serve as a key pillar of support throughout the litigation process. The right candidate will help manage every stage of a case — before, during, and after trial — including discovery, document preparation, and legal research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys throughout litigation, including trial prep, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions
• Prepare and review legal filings such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
• Perform legal research via LexisNexis and similar platforms to support case strategy
• Maintain and organize case files and discovery documentation
• Compile and summarize discovery materials, pleadings, motions, witness files, and trial exhibits
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and collecting needed information
• Liaise with opposing counsel, court personnel, and outside parties to keep cases moving on schedule
• Log and manage billable hours

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience at a law firm
• Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited institution (required)
• Strong writing, research, and organizational abilities
• Solid command of Microsoft Office
• Excellent computer skills
• Detail-oriented with strong initiative and time management
• Comfortable juggling multiple cases independently in a fast-paced setting
• Strong interpersonal and client service skills
