Paralegal - Pathways Program HOBART

We're not your typical law firm.

Wotton Kearney is Asia Pacific's insurance & risk legal business. With offices across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand, we help insurers, corporates and organisations navigate complex challenges when the stakes are high and outcomes matter.

We're a market-leading business that thinks differently and invests in what comes next. That includes building the leading AI-enabled insurance and risk legal business, using technology to amplify human expertise and deliver better outcomes for clients.

WK is home to big thinkers and impactful humans. We set high standards and create opportunities for talented people to build meaningful careers while contributing to a business that's changing how legal services are delivered.

Your legal career starts long before graduation.

At WK, we believe great lawyers are built through experience.

Our unique Pathways Program gives final-year law students the opportunity to spend a year working alongside talented lawyers, contributing to real client work and developing the legal, commercial and technology skills that law school can’t teach. Unlike a traditional clerkship, Pathways isn’t a short-term introduction to life in a law firm. It’s a year-long, apprenticeship-style experience with a market-leading business.

You’ll work on complex disputes and high-stakes matters, see how legal judgement and commercial thinking come together, and learn how AI and technology are changing the way lawyers work and create value for clients. You’ll also contribute to our nationally recognised pro bono program and build the skills, relationships and confidence to set yourself up for a successful legal career.

Pathways has helped launch the careers of many of our senior lawyers. It’s more than work experience. It’s a genuine pathway into a graduate role and a long-term career at WK.

Applications are now open for our 2027 Pathways Program.

We're looking for curious, motivated and ambitious students who want to accelerate their legal career. Whether you're already interested in litigation or still exploring where your career might take you, Pathways offers the opportunity to work alongside exceptional lawyers, contribute to meaningful client work and build skills that will stay with you long after graduation.

Many of our senior lawyers started their careers through Pathways. The program is designed to give you exceptional learning experiences and a genuine head start, setting the foundation for a successful legal career at WK.
