What they need
Are you an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys the technical side of financial planning and wants to work in a collaborative team? Lumin Wealth is looking for a Paraplanner to join our St Albans head office.
About Lumin Wealth
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in St Albans, Lumin Wealth is a Chartered firm providing financial planning and investment management to more than 4,000 families. We manage £1.6 billion in client assets and have been consistently ranked among the UK's top 100 financial advice firms by FT Adviser and Citywire New Model Adviser. After more than a decade of uninterrupted growth, we now have over 120 people across offices in London and the South East. We're also part of VZ Group, Switzerland's leading independent financial services provider, which gives us the backing of a group of around 1,700 people as we continue to grow.
About the team
Our paraplanning team brings together paraplanners, administrators and financial associates who work collaboratively to support the delivery of high-quality advice. Some team members work in dedicated pods (smaller, adviser-aligned teams), while others work in a centralised structure supporting the wider business. You'll be aligned with specific advisers, although this may change in line with business needs.
What you'll be doing
- Liaising closely with advisers, including regular case update meetings
- Researching and analysing new business recommendations
- Drafting suitability reports for adviser review and sign-off
- Building and maintaining cashflow models for client advice and meeting preparation
- Providing technical support on calculations and complex queries
- Attending client meetings where needed and recording outcomes
- Handling client requests such as withdrawals, contributions and policy amendments
- Producing client-facing documents, including one-page summaries and review documentation
- Keeping client records and compliance documentation up to date, using CRM workflows to manage cases
What we're looking for
- Level 4 Diploma (desirable, but not essential for experienced candidates)
- Demonstrable paraplanning experience in a financial planning environment
- Strong technical knowledge of investments, pensions and protection
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- A reliable, discreet and proactive approach, and a genuine team player
Benefits of joining our team
- Company pension with 3% employer contributions, plus the option to invest in our actively managed models*
- 25 days' holiday (pro rata)
- An extra day off for your birthday*
- Option to buy 5 additional days' leave through salary sacrifice*
- Access to our Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme*
- Training and development support, with career growth opportunities
- A supportive team culture with company events throughout the year
*Available after successful completion of probation.
