Paraplanner | City of London | Hybrid

Are you an experienced paraplanner who enjoys complex client work and wants to grow with an ambitious, partner-owned firm? I’m working with a well-established investment manager that is looking for a Paraplanner to join its growing Wealth Planning team, reporting to the Head of Wealth Planning.

About the firm

My client is a boutique, multi-asset investment manager of around 35 staff and partners. They combine the investment standards of a large financial institution with a close, accessible culture built around their clients. Their Wealth Planning offering specialises in pre and post-retirement advice, tax-efficient retirement strategies and estate planning, and has grown significantly in recent years.

What you’ll be doing

• Analysing client information to shape advice that meets their objectives
• Making extensive use of cashflow modelling
• Preparing suitability and recommendation reports
• Producing fund switch and withdrawal letters, with the supporting research and documentation
• Liaising with clients, providers and third parties to gather information and resolve technical points
• Supporting advisers with research as needed

What they’re looking for

• Chartered Financial Planner qualification or equivalent (or working towards it)
• At least 5 years’ experience in financial services
• Expert knowledge of financial planning, pensions and investments, ideally with complex client scenarios
• Experience with tools such as IO, Voyant and FE Express
• Strong MS Office skills and good financial and mathematical literacy
• Excellent written and spoken communication, including client liaison
• A self-motivated, proactive approach, openness to feedback and the drive to build your career

Working pattern

Full time, hybrid. Ideally four days in the City of London office and one from home, though 3:2 will be considered.
