Addison Central School DistrictParaprofessional-Extracurricular Student Support2026-2027 Addison Central School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) during extracurricular activities. This position is event-based, with working hours occurring strictly during the specific schedules and times of the designated clubs, sports, or after-school programs.Key Responsibilities: -Provide direct, one-on-one or small-group support to students with special needs to ensure full, safe participation in extracurricular activities.-Assist with physical accessibility, social interaction, communication, and behavioral support as outlined in the student's IEP.-Collaborate with club advisors, coaches, and special education staff to implement necessary accommodations and modifications.-Promote student independence, confidence, and positive peer engagement during events.-Ensure student safety during transitions, activities, and designated transportation times.Qualifications: -High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associates Degree or Paraeducator Certification preferred).-Prior experience working with children or young adults with special needs and personal care, preferably in an educational or recreational setting.-Patience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal communication skills.-Ability to pass required background checks and child safety screenings.-First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).Schedule & Compensation: Hours: After school from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
