What they need

Position Summary

Lee Canyon Ski Resort is seeking dependable and energetic Seasonal Parking Attendants to assist with the safe and efficient flow of vehicles throughout resort parking areas. Parking Attendants are often among the first team members guests interact with when arriving at the mountain and play an important role in creating a safe, organized, and welcoming guest experience.

This position is primarily outdoors and requires working in winter weather, including cold temperatures, snow, wind, and icy conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outside, communicates clearly with guests and coworkers, and can remain attentive and professional during busy periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct incoming vehicles to designated parking areas and available spaces.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient parking pattern to maximize available parking capacity.
  • Assist with traffic flow at parking lot entrances, exits, intersections, and pedestrian crossings.
  • Provide clear directions and basic resort information to arriving guests.
  • Communicate parking conditions, lot capacity, traffic issues, and safety concerns to supervisors and other team members.
  • Maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle movement throughout assigned parking areas.
  • Set up, move, and remove traffic cones, barricades, signs, and other parking-control equipment as needed.
  • Assist with snow and ice management around pedestrian areas, traffic-control locations, and other assigned areas when necessary.
  • Monitor parking areas for improperly parked vehicles, blocked access routes, hazards, or other concerns.
  • Maintain access for emergency vehicles, resort equipment, buses, shuttles, and other authorized vehicles.
  • Assist guests experiencing minor parking-related issues and direct larger concerns to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Work closely with Mountain Operations, Security, Transportation, and other resort departments during high-volume periods.
  • Follow all Lee Canyon safety procedures and immediately report accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on resort operational needs.

What We’re Looking For

Successful Parking Attendants are safety-conscious, reliable, approachable, and comfortable working outside. They understand that an organized parking operation helps set the tone for the entire guest experience and are willing to step in wherever needed to help the mountain operate safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Must be dependable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively using radios and in-person direction.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while working around heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous parking, traffic control, guest service, resort, or outdoor work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and other shifts based on resort operations.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in winter mountain conditions.
  • Ability to work in cold temperatures, snow, wind, precipitation, and icy conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including on snow-covered or uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to regularly bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements while directing traffic.
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 30–50 pounds when handling cones, barricades, signs, and other equipment.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate winter clothing and required personal protective equipment.
