Part- Time 3rd Shift Maintenance

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining the building in good repair and kept free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems
• Maintaining the building in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
• Performs and participates in fire alarm drills and emergency generator system load tests
• Assist in keeping heating and air-conditioning units in good working order
• Perform routine maintenance check of the building, grounds, and facilities
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work
• Coordinates maintenance work with other departments
• Maintains grounds as needed
• Performs carpentry, repair work, and painting as required
• Orders and requisitions supplies through supervisor
• Maintains required records and reports as outlined in the policies and procedures of the maintenance department
• Keeps work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly
• Follows established safety policies and procedures of the maintenance department
• Inspects fire extinguishers monthly
• Other duties such as: emptying garbage cans, changing filters, cleaning vents, moving patio furniture, mowing, patrol parking lots, clear sidewalks of snow or debris, salt walkways and parking areas, etc. will be required
• Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years’ experience preferred but not required, on-the-job training will be provided
• Must have a good driving record and be approved by our facility insurance
• Must have current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to read, follow oral directions and write legibly
• Must be honest, trustworthy and possess tolerance for all individuals
• Must be able to communicate with other departments
• Must have good physical and mental health. You will fill out an employee health history
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision
• Able to work with employees, residents, families, physicians, therapists, and consultants
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks with interruptions
• Able to handle numerous projects/problems with high degree of accuracy and organization
• Must have a pleasant personality and good telephone skills

Physical Requirements/Risk Exposure

• Bend, twist, and stoop on a regular basis and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Tasks assigned to this position involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids

Staff Development

• Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes, as required for certification
• Attend and participate in scheduled orientation programs and activities.
• Attend and complete monthly mandatory in-services
