Part-Time Assistant/Floater teacher

Destiny Christian Academy is in need of a flexible, gentle, optimistic, and hardworking professional that is confident in covering classroom needs (subbing), providing support (covering lunch breaks, etc.), and willing to take a consistent role in our program. The support teacher is an individual who brings their love of children, childcare, and teaching into everything they do. They are someone who is eager to work with children ages 6 weeks-school age in a child care learning environment. Someone who is inspired to create, educate, nurture and lead a thriving program for active children. The role of the support teacher is to support the teaching staff by performing various tasks throughout the classroom and help foster the development of the children intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Scheduling:

Part time hours available

12:30pm-5:30pm but can be flexible on the start time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• ❖ Must have a high school diploma
• ❖ CDA certificate or college credits towards an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education
• ❖ Be attentive and responsible in caring for children
• ❖ Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Destiny Christian Academy

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Including, but not limited to, the following:

• ❖ Maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of children in assigned classrooms.
• ❖ Execute each day’s activities, light cleaning, and assist classroom teachers as directed by supervisor and classroom teaching team.
• ❖ Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing)
• ❖ Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
• ❖ Complete all other tasks as assigned

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
