Duties

• Provide hands-on training in truck driving skills, including manual transmission operation, air brake systems, tanker operations, and handling of commercial vehicles with different configurations
• Assess student progress through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their driving capabilities
• Supervise students during behind-the-wheel training sessions on both closed courses and public roads, emphasizing safety and adherence to traffic laws
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance assessments, and certification progress
• Stay updated on changes in FMCSA regulations and incorporate relevant updates into instructional content

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation with a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety procedures
• At least 2 years experience in commercial driving
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety standards related to commercial vehicle operation
• Familiarity with truck systems such as air brakes, manual transmissions, tanker configurations, and specialized equipment like flatbeds or refrigerated units
• Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Ability to instruct students on FMCSA guidelines for safe commercial driving practices while fostering a positive learning environment
