Part time Chef/cook - Maternity Leave Cover

Job Summary

Maternity Cover for a Children's Day Nursery Cook/chef.

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Chef/Cook to work for 9-12 months to cover Maternity leave! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals and uphold our food safety standards. Whether you’re an experienced kitchen professional or a motivated food enthusiast, your contribution will be vital in creating memorable dining experiences for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily snacks and tea
• Cook daily lunch to meet our high quality standards ensuring food allergies are met
• Ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored according to food safety regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
• Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency across all meals served
• Support the team during lunch times by efficiently serving food and covering lunches
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of food and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate and manage the process with Management of the ordering of weekly shopping

Experience

• Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a children's nursery setting is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with kitchen safety protocols and food safety standards is essential
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and to time
• Knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and serving practices is highly desirable
• Experience working on your own in kitchen

This is a maternity cover role suitable for someone who wants to join our small friendly team cooking within a small nursery. Working hours are from 8am to 1pm Monday To Friday.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 per week
