The Role

We're looking for an experienced External Auditor to carry out audit assignments across a portfolio of New Zealand not-for-profit organisations.

The work is fully remote, contract-based, and structured around individual audit engagements, meaning you choose how much or how little you take on.

What The Work Involves
You'll manage the full audit cycle across each assignment, from initial scoping through to completion. Specifically that includes:

• Audit scoping and planning
• Audit preparation and documentation
• Carrying out fieldwork, testing and sampling
• Review, findings and sign-off

The not-for-profit sector brings its own character — these are organisations doing important community work, and the people you'll deal with are passionate about what they do. Strong client-facing skills matter as much as technical ability here.

What You'll Need

• A minimum of three years' external audit experience gained within a recognised New Zealand audit firm
• The ability to work fully independently and remotely with minimal supervision
• Strong time management and the self-discipline to manage your own assignment pipeline
• Excellent communication skills — you'll be dealing directly with NFP clients throughout each engagement
• A genuine ability to build rapport with clients who may not have deep financial expertise
