Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency in accordance with established recipes and standards.
• Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and nutritional value.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pots, poaching stations, knives, and food processors.
• Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized meals that meet dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Contribute to food production during high-volume service periods while adhering to recipe guidelines and portion control.
• Maintain organized workstations, manage food handling procedures properly, and ensure all food is stored correctly to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal delivery.
• Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dietary aide or in food service is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including braising, grilling, poaching, and other cooking methods.
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production.
• Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
• Excellent knife skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
• Background in fine dining or restaurant environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of dietary department standards or catering experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
