Position Summary

Liberty Charter Academy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students, families, faculty, and visitors. This position is responsible for the daily care of the school's public spaces, restrooms, and common areas while supporting the overall appearance and cleanliness of the campus.

First Position Type: Part-Time (Morning and Early Afternoon Shift) Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Second Position Type: Part-Time (Afternoon and Early Evening Shift) Hours: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

First Position's Key Responsibilities

• Lobby & Hallway Care: Dustmop, sweep, and wet mop main entryways and main corridors.
• Auditorium Maintenance: Maintain auditorium carpeted floor and riser areas as needed, at least weekly. Dustmop stage weekly.
• Glass & Window Cleaning: Clean fingerprints, smudges, and other marks from entry doors, interior partition glass, and classroom windows daily, as needed.
• Touchpoint Disinfection: Sanitize doorknobs, light switches, water fountains, and other frequently touched surfaces daily.
• Maintain Consumable Supplies of Restroom: Check and refill, as needed, all toilet paper, paper towel, and soap dispensers in all bathrooms.
• Maintain Cleanliness of Restrooms: Wipe down sinks and counters, clean toilets, sweep and mop restroom floors. Check feminine hygiene boxes in girls’ restrooms and empty or refill as needed. Clean mirrors, as needed. Remove trash, as needed.
• Waste Removal: Remove trash from barrels, transport rubbish to the dumpster, and replace liners in waste receptacles after lunch service.

Second Position's Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Cleaning: Empty trash receptacles, dust mop hard floors and vacuum carpets daily. Spot clean desks, furniture, and other surfaces as needed and time permits.
• Restroom Sanitation: Scrub, disinfect, and restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in assigned restrooms. Clean mirrors, as needed. Remove trash, as needed.
• Floor Care: Sweep and mop tile floors in classrooms and adjacent corridors.
• Safety & Security: Secure exterior doors, turn off building lights, and report maintenance hazards.
• As needed, assist with items not finished by Morning-Afternoon Custodian: Sometimes the Morning-Afternoon Custodian will be called away from duties to help with spills or illness. If they are unable to finish their daily tasks, this will be communicated through the Operations Manager, and will be completed on this shift.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand and walk for 5 hours.
• Bend, kneel, and reach repeatedly.
• Pushing large vacuum, dustmops.
• Climb ladders for high dusting or glass cleaning.

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
