Part-Time Dance Instructor and Choreographer

Anticipated Start: January 2027

ASDA is seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic dance instructor to join our team for our upcoming recital session.

We are looking for a versatile instructor who enjoys working with children of different ages and skill levels, provides strong technical training, and creates engaging, age-appropriate choreography.

Teaching Opportunities

We offer classes for the following age groups:

• Ages 3-5
• Ages 5-9
• Ages 9-13

Dance styles include ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater and contemporary.

Our teaching schedules are organized into blocks of consecutive classes, often incorporating multiple dance styles and age groups. Most classes are 45 minutes in length. We are seeking versatile instructors who are comfortable teaching a variety of styles within their assigned class block.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach structured, engaging, age-appropriate dance classes
• Create and teach original choreography for our annual recital
• Provide strong technical instruction while encouraging confidence, creativity, and individual growth
• Maintain positive classroom management
• Arrive prepared and ready to teach
• Communicate professionally and consistently with studio leadership
• Meet choreography and studio deadlines

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching dance to children
• Experience choreographing routines for performances or recitals
• Strong understanding of dance technique and age-appropriate instruction
• Ability to independently plan and lead classes
• Experience teaching multiple dance styles
• Reliable transportation to and from the studio
• Reliable, organized, and professional
• Positive and encouraging teaching approach

Experience with competitive dance is a plus, but not required.

Position Details

Part-time position beginning January 2027. Specific teaching assignments and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.

Compensation is based on ASDA's established profit-sharing pay scale, with earnings determined by class enrollment. Additional compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
