Part time day porter

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Part-Time Day Porter to join our facilities maintenance team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our commercial or residential properties during daytime hours. Your proactive approach will ensure that our environment remains welcoming, sanitized, and well-kept for employees, clients, and visitors alike. Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, or equipment safely following established lifting practices and safety protocols.
• Conduct inspections of common areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory, handle chemical agents safely according to chemical handling safety procedures, and ensure proper storage.
• Provide friendly customer service by greeting visitors or tenants courteously and addressing their cleaning or maintenance requests efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and proper use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely following chemical handling safety procedures.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocol adherence during all cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff, tenants, or visitors.
• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 10 am to 2pm

Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour
