Part-Time Dental Billing Specialist

Hive Dental is looking for an experienced Dental Billing Specialist to help manage insurance claims, accounts receivable, and collections for our growing dental practice.

This position is ideal for someone who understands dental insurance billing and can independently stay on top of outstanding claims, denials, aging, and payment posting.

Responsibilities

• Submit and review dental insurance claims
• Follow up on unpaid and outstanding insurance claims
• Work insurance aging reports and reduce outstanding A/R
• Correct and resubmit rejected claims
• Handle insurance denials and appeals
• Post insurance payments and EOBs accurately
• Submit secondary insurance claims
• Follow up on missing information, attachments, narratives, and documentation
• Review claims for accuracy before submission
• Assist with pre-authorizations and insurance-related treatment estimates
• Research insurance payment discrepancies
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and benefits
• Maintain accurate notes and documentation in the patient account
• Coordinate with the Office Manager and front desk on insurance issues

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of dental billing or dental insurance experience preferred
• Strong understanding of dental claims, EOBs, denials, and insurance A/R
• Experience working with PPO dental insurance
• Medicaid dental billing experience strongly preferred
• Eaglesoft experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology and CDT codes
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Comfortable calling insurance companies and following claims through resolution
• Able to work independently and prioritize aging accounts

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who does more than simply submit claims. The right person understands how to actively work an insurance aging report, identify why claims have not been paid, and follow them through until they are resolved.

This role will work closely with our Office Manager but will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day insurance billing and follow-up process.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
