Part-Time Dialysis Patient Care Technician

Role Overview The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports clinical staff in delivering dialysis treatments to patients with end-stage renal disease.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with infection control, patient education, and monitoring during dialysis
• Obtain vital signs and machine readings
• Set up and break down dialysis blood systems
• Insert and remove patient access needles
• Monitor patient condition, document changes, and communicate concerns
• Calculate patient dry weight, organize workload, and maintain patient privacy
• Perform laboratory work and maintain inventory
• Guide patients through education plans and support interdisciplinary team

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Healthcare experience preferred; certifications like CNA, EMT, or phlebotomy are desirable
• Ability to collaborate and observe patient rights
