Job Purpose:
At Harry Meyering Center (HMC), we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living more independent, fulfilling lives at home and in the community. As a Part-Time Direct Support Professional, you’ll build meaningful relationships, help individuals explore their interests, and support them in reaching personal goals.
With flexible part-time hours, paid training, and no previous experience required, this is a great opportunity to make a difference while gaining valuable experience in human services.

Wage:$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8–29 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend availability required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Additional fill-in shifts and holiday coverage may be available or required, depending on program needs
• Shifts may include:
  • 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM–10:00 PM
  • 12:00 PM–4:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM–8:00 PM
  • Other shifts based on program needs

**Location:**Multiple locations in North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake.

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct care for others in an individualized and meaningful way.
• Assist with personal cares.
• Engage in community activities, i.e., bowling, shopping, watching a movie or exercising.
• Complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and dressing.
• Complete household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
• Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all communications to HMC, whether written or verbal, external and internal.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
• Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study
• Prior experience or training is not required, but having experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or healthcare-related professional is preferred.
