Part Time Drafter/Programmer

Badlands Ranch and Rodeo Equipment – Watertown, SD

Badlands Ranch and Rodeo Equipment is looking for a Part-Time Drafter / Programmer to join our team in Watertown, SD. This position is ideal for someone with SolidWorks experience and an interest in CNC programming who enjoys turning ideas and concepts into detailed designs and production-ready programs for a real-world manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Develop detailed drawings, dimensions, and specifications for fabricated products
• Create and modify programs for CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment
• Translate CAD designs into production-ready programs and files
• Make revisions to existing drawings, designs, and programs as needed
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure designs and programs are accurate and efficient
• Review designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and proper fit
• Maintain organized drawing files, programs, and technical documentation
• Assist with product development, process improvements, and design changes
• Take measurements and incorporate field or production changes into drawings and programs
• Support other drafting, programming, and design projects as needed

Qualifications

• Previous SolidWorks experience is required
• Experience creating 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings
• CNC programming experience is preferred, but candidates willing to learn may be considered
• Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and basic manufacturing practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Manufacturing, welding, fabrication, or agricultural equipment experience is a plus

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position
• Flexible schedule based on availability and workload
• Wage: DOE (Depending on Experience)
• Opportunity for additional hours as projects require
