Part Time Education Assistant

About the Role

CAST, a nonprofit organization based in Southold, NY, is seeking an Education Associate to support our education programming. This role supports multiple program areas, including but not limited to our Early Childhood program, Afterschool and Summer programs.

Tasks/Expectations include but are not limited to:

Steps to Success:

• Assist in the oversight of 20 elementary students
• Assist in the execution of activities

ParentChild+:

• Visit families in their homes
• Plan age-appropriate activities
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Education Coordinator
• Complete all ParentChild+ trainings in a timely manner
• Assist in the ParentChild+ Graduation Ceremony

Summer Rise:

• Oversee a group of students daily during Summer Rise program
• Assist in daily organization of students and activities

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma
• Experience working with children preferred
• Bilingual Spanish and English a plus

Personal characteristics and Specific skills

• Reliable
• Strong Communication skills
• Organized
• Attention to detail
• NYS Driver’s Licence

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week

Work Location: In person
