Part-Time Evening Custodian

PART-TIME EVENING CUSTODIAN Join the Palos Heights Parks & Recreation team! Help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming facilities for our community.

Position Details

• Location: Recreation Center & City Facilities
• Schedule: Evening hours (10–15 hours/week, includes weekends)
• Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Union

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facilities including restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces
• Sanitize rooms and refill supplies
• Perform event set-ups and take-downs
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness
• Perform light maintenance tasks
• Follow safety procedures and report issues

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Custodial experience preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Standing, walking, bending for extended periods

Additional Requirements

• Pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required
• Medical physical may be required

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $30.88 after 12 months
• IMRF not applicable
