Part- time Facilities Maintenance Technician

Overview

Family Gateway, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and operational needs of our Shelter in North Dallas. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our facility during evening hours. Reporting to the Director of Operations/Facilities, the technician will handle general maintenance tasks to uphold a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the facility’s systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
• Conduct repairs and troubleshooting as needed to address issues promptly.
• Assist with preventative maintenance schedules to ensure ongoing safety and operational efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and storage spaces.
• Respond to emergency repair requests during evening hours to minimize disruption.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately for record-keeping purposes.
• Collaborate with staff to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and facility policies at all times.

Experience

• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues effectively.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environmental conditions.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
