Part time GED instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time GED Instructor to inspire and empower adult learners on their journey toward educational achievement. In this role, you will deliver engaging instruction tailored to diverse learning styles, foster a supportive classroom environment, and utilize innovative learning technologies to enhance student success. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with GED standards, ensuring clarity and engagement for adult learners.
• Facilitate dynamic classroom sessions, both in-person and online, utilizing learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technology tools.
• Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles, including visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and bilingual learners.
• Design and develop instructional materials that support literacy education, ESL (English as a Second Language), and adult language acquisition.
• Provide individualized tutoring and coaching to students working toward GED completion, focusing on core subjects such as math, science, social studies, and language arts.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through strong classroom management techniques while fostering an inclusive environment respectful of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, instructional design, and professional development initiatives related to adult education best practices.
• Monitor student progress through assessments, feedback, and data analysis to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals.
• Engage with students empathetically, recognizing different learning needs including those with disabilities such as deaf or visually impaired education and adapt instruction accordingly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in classroom teaching or tutoring within adult education settings; experience with ESL or literacy programs is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional materials creation, and instructional design principles for adult learners.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and learning technology tools used for online instruction and student engagement.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal—and the ability to connect effectively with diverse student populations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms efficiently while fostering a positive learning environment.
• Experience working with students from various cultural backgrounds; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of special education practices relevant to adult learners with disabilities or unique learning needs.
• Ability to adapt lessons based on individual learning styles and instructional needs; flexibility is essential.
• Passion for adult education, literacy development, and helping students achieve their academic goals through innovative teaching methods.
