Part-Time Helper / Classroom Aide

Building Blocks Preschool in Lenexa, KS is hiring a Part-Time Helper / Classroom Aide to join our teaching team! We're looking for openers and/or closers — flexible scheduling available. This is a great entry-level opportunity — perfect for a first job or students looking for flexible part-time hours.

Responsibilities:

• Work under the direct supervision of a lead or assistant teacher
• Support daily classroom activities and help create a safe, nurturing environment for children
• Opening (7–9am core hours): Arrive early to help open the building, greet parents as they drop off, and help calm and connect with kids so they feel comfortable and confident starting their day
• Closing (Aftercare, 3:30–6pm core hours): Engage with kids in our aftercare program as they wait for pickup, plus light janitorial duties — taking out trash, washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and checking windows and doors before close

Requirements:

• At least 16 years of age
• No prior childcare experience or degree required — we'll help you get started!
• Availability for opening and/or closing shifts

Before working with children, you'll need:

• A cleared background check
• Health assessment / TB screening on file (we'll help you complete this if you don't already have it)
• CPR & First Aid certification (we'll help you complete this if you don't already have it)

Pay: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
