Part-Time High School Math Tutor (Pre-Calculus, Essential Math), Winnipeg

GradeUp Winnipeg is a K-12 tutoring service that matches Winnipeg families with caring, well-prepared tutors. High school math is our busiest subject right now, and we are looking for tutors who can help Grade 9 to 12 students with Math, including Pre-Calculus 40S, Applied Math and Essential Math.

About the role

You will teach students one-on-one, usually 1 hour at a time, once or twice a week, either in the student's home or online. We handle the matching, scheduling, invoicing and parent communication. You focus on teaching.

What you'll do

• Teach one-on-one sessions in the student's home or online

• Work from the student's own class notes and tests, and add practice and test-prep strategies

• Explain ideas step by step and adapt to how each student learns

• After each session, log a short recap in our parent portal so families can see progress

• Arrive on time and communicate professionally with GradeUp

What we're looking for

• Strong skills in high school Math, ideally through Pre-Calculus or higher

• Experience tutoring, teaching, coaching or working with students

• Patience, warmth and clear communication

• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions, and/or a laptop with a camera and reliable internet for online sessions

• Available some weekday evenings (4 to 9 PM) and/or weekends

• A current Manitoba Child Abuse Registry Check (we will help you get one if you don't have one yet)

• Experience with students who learn differently, or find focus harder, is a real asset

What we offer

• $24 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and subject level

• Flexible, part-time hours that fit around your studies or other work

• A ready pipeline of families, no need to find your own clients

• Simple online scheduling, invoicing and progress tracking

• Support from the GradeUp team

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your resume. Please tell us in a sentence or two which math courses you teach best, whether you prefer in-home, online or both, and what evenings or weekends you have free. We will contact shortlisted candidates for a short phone interview.
