Part-time Housekeeper

Part-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant – Darlington

We are a busy family of five looking for a reliable and proactive person to help keep our home tidy, organised and running smoothly.

We are currently considering either one full day each week or one full day every fortnight. We can be flexible about which day is worked and would agree arrangements with the right person.

Please note that we already employ a separate cleaner. This role is focused on tidying, organising and helping manage the home—not routine or deep cleaning.

Duties may include:

• Tidying and resetting rooms
• Organising wardrobes, cupboards and storage areas
• Laundry, ironing and changing beds
• Keeping track of household supplies
• Receiving and putting away deliveries
• Occasional errands
• Finding practical ways to make the home more organised
• Light cleaning only when naturally connected to another task

Previous housekeeping experience is not essential. We would be very happy to consider a school-leaver or college student looking for their first opportunity to gain genuine work experience.

Work ethic and attitude are far more important to us than an established CV. The right person will be dependable, willing to learn and able to use their initiative.

Strong tidying and organisational skills, practical problem-solving ability and complete discretion are essential. As this position involves working inside our family home, trustworthiness and respect for our privacy are a must.

Approximately 6–8 hours per visit, either weekly or fortnightly, with flexibility around the working day. A paid trial day will be arranged initially.

Rate: £18–£22 per hour, depending on experience and suitability.

Pay: £12.71-£20.00 per hour
