Part-Time Hybrid Community & Programs Assistant

Overview

Art in the Park is seeking a Part-Time Hybrid Community & Programs Assistant to support our day-to-day operations, community programs, events, and outreach efforts.

This position offers a combination of remote administrative and organizational work and in-person community engagement. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, creative, and passionate about helping others.

Some responsibilities can be completed remotely, while participation in programs, events, distributions, beautification projects, and other community activities will require in-person attendance in New York City.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating art workshops, community events, and service initiatives
• Provide remote administrative and organizational support, including scheduling, communications, data entry, and document organization
• Help prepare event materials, art supplies, flyers, and outreach materials
• Support food distributions, coat drives, toy drives, and other community giveback events
• Assist with murals, gardens, cleanups, and neighborhood beautification projects
• Communicate with community members, volunteers, artists, and partner organizations
• Help coordinate volunteers and event logistics
• Support community outreach through email, social media, flyers, and other communications
• Assist with documenting programs through photos, attendance information, and program updates
• Help maintain organized program records, supplies, and resources
• Provide general support to the Art in the Park team as needed

• Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on responsibilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
• Comfortable working directly with community members during in-person programs and events
• Passion for art, community service, youth programming, or neighborhood development
• Able to use basic computer, email, and online communication tools
• Willing to participate in occasional weekend, evening, or outdoor community events when needed
• Previous nonprofit, administrative, arts, education, or community experience is a plus, but not required
