Part Time IT Support Technician (Contract, Flexible Hours)

Coast Techs Consulting is a San Diego managed IT services provider supporting nonprofits and small and midsize businesses. We take a hands on, relationship focused approach to IT. We're growing quickly and bringing on new clients, and we're looking for a reliable technician to help us support them on a flexible, as needed basis.

The Role
This is a contract position averaging 1 to 25 hours per month, depending on client needs and active projects. Most of the work is done remotely, with occasional onsite visits to clients around San Diego County. You won't be on call to start. We schedule site visits and project work in advance and build them around your existing availability, which makes this a great fit for someone with another job, a growing freelance practice, or a student looking for real world experience.

What You'll Do

• Provide remote and onsite desktop support for end users
• Administer Microsoft 365: user onboarding and offboarding, licensing, mailboxes, groups, and permissions
• Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain workstations, printers, and peripherals
• Support small business networks, including switches, firewalls, WiFi, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Assist with client projects such as office moves, hardware rollouts, and security improvements
• Document your work clearly in our ticketing system

What You Bring

• Hands on Microsoft 365 administration experience (required)
• Solid Windows desktop support and troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of small business networking
• Clear, friendly communication with non technical users
• Your own laptop and basic tools for onsite work
• Reliable transportation for occasional client visits within San Diego County
• Ability to work independently and follow documented procedures

Nice to Have

• Experience at an MSP or in a nonprofit environment
• Familiarity with tools such as Splashtop, OpenText (Webroot), or N-able products
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft 365 certifications

Compensation
$45 to $60 per hour, paid as a 1099 contractor, based on experience
