Part-Time Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking dedicated Part-time Kitchen Porters to join our team in a bustling pub restaurant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations, let's be honest, this is not a glamorous position, but a very important position that we understand is hard work but also acknowledge the kitchen cannot run effectively without.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of the kitchen team.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area.

• Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.

• Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.

• Keep kitchen floors and work surfaces clean and sanitised.

• Support chefs during service by fetching and carrying items as needed.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry is advantageous but full training can be provided.

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques is desirable.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team.

• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
