Part-Time Lab Associate Engineer

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1.      Laboratory duties

• Prepare and set up of laboratory equipment, apparatus, hardware, software for lab classes.
• Clear & clean up the laboratory after each laboratory session.
• Assist in the supervision of laboratory practical sessions.

2.      Laboratory inventory and procurement of laboratory materials and equipment

• Assist in the keeping of record and regular report to the Senior Laboratory Engineer or Manager.
• Provide & maintain proper tracking on lab matters such as feedbacks, problem resolution and follow up actions.
• Assist in providing support to students in their projects through procurement planning, technical assistance.

3.      Equipment maintenance (Hardware/Software)

• Provide servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting & minor repair of laboratory equipment.
• Assist in managing of software licenses, installations or updating, setup, and maintenance of lab computers and software.

4.      Workplace Safety & Health

• Ensure lab safety at all times and that all users (eg. students, lecturers, etc) comply with the lab rules & regulations.
• Assist in conducting risk assessment for engineering laboratories

5.      General matters

• Any other ad-hoc matters as assigned by Reporting Officer

Job Requirement

• Diploma in Engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical)
• 1 year of relevant experience in related industry
• Entry level candidates will be considered
• Familiar and able to operate laboratory equipment and perform troubleshooting if required
• Knowledge in laboratory safety requirements
• A good team player
• Able and willing to share knowledge with others
• Willing to work on rotational shift duties
