JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services under the direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the physician's plan of care.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop/restore function, maintain performance and improve strength and function.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training and strength and reconditioning.
• Utilizes physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, ice, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage techniques.
• Observes and reports to the physical therapist and the other medical providers the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient’s condition.
• Instructs patients in care and use of assistive devices including braces, crutches, canes, etc.
• Maintains necessary electronic health records; clinical notes and conference notes, in a timely, effective and efficient manner
• Meets the average daily productivity standards as set by the practice
• Maintain safe and effective delivery of care all while complying with government and state parameters
• Keeping up with new laws, practices and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Please note that the job duties listed above are the major responsibilities of a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistance at our office. You may be asked to perform other job related task at any given time that falls within your scope of practice.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and active New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• Minimum one year experience required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation to/from the office
• Demonstrates good verbal/written communication, exemplary organization skills and excellent time management abilities.

Salary Range: $40 per hour

Job Type: Part-time

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (Required)
