THE ROLE :

We’re looking for an experienced, confident and passionate Café / Operations Manager to become a key part of the team at Signature.

You’ll work closely with the owner to make sure Signature runs efficiently, profitably and to a consistently high standard.

Leading the team .Creating a positive, professional and accountable culture. You’ll motivate and develop the team, delegate effectively, set clear expectations, support recruitment and training, and handle difficult conversations when needed.

Running the floor

Taking control of busy services, positioning the team effectively, keeping food, drinks and customers flowing, maintaining communication between FOH, baristas and kitchen, and making confident decisions when the owner isn’t present.

Customer experience

Leading by example and ensuring every customer receives warm, attentive and consistent service. You’ll monitor standards, handle complaints professionally, build relationships with regulars and use feedback to continually improve the Signature experience.

Rotas & labour

Building efficient rotas based on forecasted trade, managing holidays and cover, monitoring staffing levels and understanding the impact labour has on profitability.

Commercial performance

Keeping an eye on the numbers that matter, including:

* Daily and weekly sales

* Labour costs and wage percentage

* Average spend

* Stock and wastage

* Discounts and voids

* Sales trends

* Opportunities to increase revenue

Stock & cost control

Supporting ordering, stock checks, stock rotation and portion control while identifying unnecessary waste or unusual usage.

Standards & operations

Overseeing opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, cash handling, EPOS, bookings, health and food safety, maintenance reporting and day-to-day operational systems.

You’ll also be encouraged to identify better ways of doing things and help make Signature more organised and efficient.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Previous management experience within a busy café, restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment is essential.

You’ll be:

* A confident and respected leader

* Commercially aware

* Highly organised and proactive

* Calm under pressure

* Comfortable making decisions

* Honest, reliable and accountable

* Positive and able to motivate others

* Hands-on when the team needs support

THE PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We want someone who takes genuine pride in seeing a business perform well.

Someone who knows the regulars, notices when standards slip, understands why labour costs were too high yesterday, checks upcoming bookings before planning staffing, develops the team and solves problems without everything needing to reach the owner.

We’re looking for someone who wants to become a genuine part of that and who we can trust to run SS ike it’s their own.

HOURS

Approximately 30 hours per week, depending on the right candidate and the needs of the business.
