Part-time Pharmacist

Citrus Pharmacy is a small independent but busy pharmacy located inside a medical centre in Etobicoke. We are a small team consisting of 5 pharmacists, 6 assistants and 1 registered technician that work closely with over 12 doctors inside the medical centre. The pharmacy is quite busy, you can expect most days to be over 150 new/repeat prescriptions (before blister packs). There is assistant coverage on at all hours the pharmacy is open, normally multiple assistants and a registered technician on some days to assist with blister pack checking and refill technical checks.

We are looking for a part-time pharmacist to join our team on Thursday evenings. Hours would be 1-8 PM. You would have overlap with at least 1 other Pharmacist for over half your shift, along with a minimum of 2 assistants the entire shift too! Further hours are possible on other days in the future.

The ideal applicant will:

• Be proficient in communicating verbally in English
• Have confidence in their skill to be able to answer questions from doctors
• Be able to work in what can often be a fast paced environment
• Be comfortable with prescription entry (pharmacist at entry workflow model in place) and billing
• Be willing to stay behind (paid) if needed to ensure work is finished
• Have experience with Kroll (paperless preferred) and be proficient in using it to to its best potential
• Feel confident in their use of technology, we make use of many technologies not found in most pharmacies including EMR access, special programs designed for our pharmacy specifically etc
• Be willing to work quickly
• Be willing to grow the business

I'm looking for someone who is willing to work and treat the pharmacy as if it were their own. I leave a lot of flexibility in decision making to my pharmacists and this leads to a very relaxed work environment. You are not expected to do MedsChecks or have quotas to reach here, however there is opportunity for extra hours if you'd like to run a MedsCheck clinic exclusively on other days! Experience with prescription entry is a must as we run a pharmacist-at-entry model, must be proficient in entering prescriptions, billing and collecting insurance info over the phone.

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
