Part-Time Primary Tutor

We're looking for someone who believes that tutoring is about far more than worksheets and SATs.

We're looking for someone who believes that every child deserves to be seen.

At Clara James Tutoring, we don't expect children to fit our lessons.

We adapt our lessons to fit the child.

We spend time getting to know the children we work with – their interests, strengths, worries, learning style and goals – because we believe that's where great tutoring begins.

Our aim isn't simply to improve maths and English.

It's to help children develop confidence, self-belief and a love of learning that stays with them long after the lesson has finished.

You might be the person we're looking for if you...

⭐ Love helping children grow in confidence.

⭐ Naturally adapt your teaching to suit the individual child.

⭐ Enjoy making learning engaging through games, creativity and conversation.

⭐ Believe that confidence comes before curriculum.

⭐ Are patient, encouraging and genuinely enjoy seeing children succeed.

⭐ Have good knowledge of primary Maths and English.

⭐ Can travel to families in and around Aylesbury.

Teaching qualifications aren't essential. Some of our best tutors have come from a variety of educational backgrounds. What matters most is your ability to build relationships with children and your desire to make a genuine difference.

In return you'll receive:

• Ongoing mentoring and support.
• Access to a wide range of tried-and-tested resources and games.
• The opportunity to be part of a supportive team that shares the same child-first philosophy.
• The chance to help shape something much bigger than tutoring lessons.

At Clara James Tutoring, we don't just teach Maths and English.

We help children believe in themselves.

If that sounds like the sort of tutor you are—or the sort of tutor you'd like to become—we'd love to hear from you. Please can you send a copy of your CV to the email address below with your favourite animal as the subject line - it's so that we know you read the whole description. Thank you
