Part-Time Receptionist Role

About the role

Sandstone Point Hotel is looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team on a part-time or casual basis, working approximately 20 hours per week, primarily across Friday to Monday.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a fast-paced hospitality environment. As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from the moment they contact us.

We're looking for someone with good availability and flexibility, including the ability to pick up additional shifts when required to cover team leave, busy periods and other operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Answering incoming phone calls and emails and directing enquiries to the appropriate department
• Managing the reception desk and assisting guests with enquiries, bookings and general information
• Assisting with event and function enquiries
• Managing and updating booking systems and guest information
• Providing friendly and professional customer service to guests
• Assisting guests with questions, requests and resolving issues where possible
• Completing general administration, filing and data entry
• Supporting the wider venue team with administrative and reception duties
• Maintaining a professional and welcoming reception area
• Assisting with other tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the venue

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in reception, administration, hospitality or another customer-facing role
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is confident answering phones and communicating with guests both in person and via email
• Is organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks at once
• Has strong attention to detail
• Is confident using computers and learning new systems
• Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment
• Has a friendly, welcoming and professional manner
• Takes pride in providing great customer service
• Is reliable and punctual
• Has availability across Friday to Monday
• Is flexible and willing to pick up additional shifts when required, particularly to cover staff leave and busy periods

Previous hospitality or hotel reception experience is highly regarded, however, we're also happy to consider applicants with strong customer service and administration experience who are looking to develop their skills within hospitality.
