Part-Time Riding Instructor and Program Assistant – Growth Opportunity

Pay: $28–$40 per hour, depending on experienceSchedule: Approximately 15–25 hours per week to start, with significant room for growth in income and time.

An established equestrian program in Washington County is seeking a friendly, experienced and dependable riding instructor with an English and/or Western pleasure background.

This flexible position combines riding instruction with light administrative work. Hours will be scheduled around lessons and may include afternoons, evenings and weekends. The position will begin with two or three consistent days each week, with the opportunity to grow into four or five days.

There is lots of room for the right person to grow with the program, including increased teaching hours, program coordination and future leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach safe and encouraging private and group riding lessons
• Work with children and adults from beginner through intermediate levels
• Help prepare lesson horses and equipment
• Communicate with students and families
• Assist with scheduling, responding to inquiries and general program organization
• Maintain safe, clean and organized teaching areas

Qualifications

• Previous riding-instruction experience
• Strong horse-handling and horsemanship skills
• English and/or Western pleasure riding background
• Comfortable teaching children, adults and beginning riders
• Dressage, jumping or Western pleasure experience is welcome
• Friendly, patient, organized and reliable
• Comfortable helping with basic office and scheduling work
• Professional references required
