What they need

About the role

39Degrees is growing its Managed IT Support business across Kent and we are looking for a confident, organised Sales Development Representative / Appointment Setter to create qualified sales opportunities.

This is not a closing role.

Your job is to identify suitable businesses, start conversations with decision-makers, establish whether there is a genuine IT support requirement and book qualified meetings with our Managing Director.

We are primarily targeting established Kent businesses with approximately 15–75 users that may be:

  • dissatisfied with their existing IT provider
  • approaching an IT support contract renewal
  • experiencing recurring IT or cybersecurity problems
  • growing and outgrowing their current support arrangements
  • looking for a more proactive managed IT partner

Once a suitable prospect is qualified and booked in, the Managing Director will handle the discovery meeting, technical review, proposal and closing process.

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for researching and approaching suitable businesses across Kent, including areas such as Maidstone, Medway, Dartford, Gravesend, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Sittingbourne, Ashford and Canterbury.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • researching suitable target companies
  • identifying Managing Directors, Finance Directors, Operations Directors, Office Managers and IT decision-makers
  • making outbound B2B telephone calls
  • sending personalised prospecting emails
  • following up interested prospects
  • using LinkedIn to identify and engage decision-makers
  • promoting our free Managed IT Review
  • promoting our IT Support Health Check
  • establishing whether the prospect currently uses an MSP
  • identifying contract or renewal dates where possible
  • establishing approximate numbers of users and devices
  • understanding why they may be considering a change
  • identifying other stakeholders involved in the decision
  • booking qualified meetings directly into the Managing Director’s diary
  • maintaining accurate CRM records and follow-up dates
  • following up website enquiries and campaign responses
  • nurturing prospects where the timing is not yet right

What counts as a qualified meeting?

We are focused on quality rather than simply filling the diary.

A typical qualified opportunity should be:

Location: KentBusiness size: 10+ users, ideally 15–75Contact: Decision-maker or genuine influencerRequirement: Managed IT, IT support or cybersecurity requirementCurrent situation: Existing MSP, internal support or an identifiable IT gapReason for change: A genuine business problem, concern or upcoming requirement

What you will not be expected to do

You will not be expected to:

  • design technical solutions
  • write detailed IT proposals
  • negotiate managed-services contracts
  • conduct technical assessments
  • close the final deal

Your job is to create genuine qualified sales conversations.

About you

This role could suit you if you:

  • are confident speaking with business owners and senior decision-makers
  • enjoy B2B sales and prospecting
  • are persistent without being aggressive
  • are organised and disciplined with follow-up
  • communicate clearly by phone and email
  • are comfortable using a CRM and LinkedIn
  • can work independently and manage your own activity

Experience in B2B appointment setting, IT services, telecoms, cybersecurity, SaaS or professional services would be useful but is not essential.

No specific formal education qualification or minimum number of years of sales experience is required.

Initial targets

Indicative monthly targets will include:

  • 250–350 new target companies researched
  • 250+ personalised first contacts
  • 200+ outbound calls
  • 8–10+ qualified attended meetings
  • 4+ genuine sales opportunities

We are much more interested in the quality of the opportunities created than vanity metrics.

What we offer

You will be joining a business with an established offer and a defined sales process rather than being handed a phone and an old contact list.

You will have access to:

  • a defined Kent target market
  • structured prospect qualification
  • dedicated landing pages
  • an IT Support Health Check
  • Managed IT Review offer
  • prepared email and follow-up campaigns
  • clear CRM stages
  • direct access to the Managing Director for qualified opportunities

The role is initially designed around a focused growth campaign, with the potential to develop further if the results are strong.

Pay and bonus

£18–£22 per hour, depending on experience.

In addition:

£50 for each qualified meeting that is attended.

£250 for each new managed-services customer won from an opportunity you generated.

The role can be structured as either a part-time employed position or a self-employed contractor arrangement, depending on the successful applicant.

How to apply

Please apply directly with:

  • your CV
  • your location
  • your current role or recent experience
  • your availability
  • whether you prefer employed, self-employed contractor, or are open to either
  • a short explanation of your B2B sales or appointment-setting experience

You can also email your CV directly to:

Direct applicants only. We do not accept applications, CV submissions or candidate introductions from recruitment agencies.

Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
  • Referral programme
  • Work from home
