Part-Time Security Officer – Student Accommodation

We are looking for professional and reliable part-time Security Officers to work at an international student accommodation site in Birmingham.

There are positions available for either two or three 12-hour shifts per week, covering a mixture of day and night shifts.

Main duties

• Providing a professional and welcoming security presence
• Carrying out reception and gatehouse duties
• Checking in new students and visitors
• Providing information and assistance to residents and visitors
• Monitoring access to the accommodation
• Completing routine security checks and patrols
• Responding appropriately to incidents and resident concerns
• Maintaining accurate records and completing incident reports
• Following all site security, health and safety procedures

Essential requirements

• A valid frontline SIA licence
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• A professional, calm and approachable manner
• Reliability and good timekeeping
• Confidence dealing with students, residents and visitors from different backgrounds
• Ability to work independently and use good judgement
• Flexibility to work 12-hour day and night shifts
• The right to work in the UK

Previous experience in security, reception, student accommodation, hospitality or a similar customer-facing environment would be advantageous.
