Duties

• Supervise daily store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies
• Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service
• Manage cash handling procedures, POS transactions, and store opening/closing routines with accuracy
• Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing adjustments to optimize product presentation
• Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and performance feedback to foster team growth
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment
• Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage store supplies to ensure operational readiness
• Implement marketing initiatives and promotional displays to boost sales and store visibility

Experience

• Proven supervising or team management experience within retail or similar customer service environments
• Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, inventory control, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, and sales management
• Familiarity with merchandising standards, stock replenishment, and inventory management tools
• Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced setting
• Organizational skills that support efficient shift management and administrative duties
• Prior assistant manager or supervisory roles in grocery stores or retail outlets are advantageous
• Huge plus if have experience and knowledge about animals including reptiles, amphibians, inverts, cats, dogs and birds.
