Duties

• Step into classrooms as a substitute teacher, delivering age-appropriate activities and maintaining classroom routines
• Supervise children during play, meals, nap times, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement
• Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance using positive reinforcement techniques
• Support teachers with lesson implementation, child supervision, and classroom organization
• Close the center at the end of the day by ensuring all children are safely picked up and classrooms are tidy
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily updates or concerns
• Follow mandated reporting laws and health protocols to ensure compliance with safety standards

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings preferred
• All three foundational childcare classes - and a Registry level 3 or higher
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies
• Certification in First Aid, Pediatric First Aid, CPR, or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm and professionalism
• Familiarity with child supervision best practices, behavior management, and caregiving techniques

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
