Part Time Support Worker

To maintain the highest quality of support to services users within the home through the provision of a stimulating environment in which the emotional, social, physical and psychological needs of the individuals are met.

To promote service user’s independence daily, supporting them with activities of daily living. To ensure that defined policies as laid down by the company and the homes manager are always adhered to. To maintain a hygienic safe and pleasant environment for service users. To ensure all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained. To plan and provide nutritious meals to all service users daily. To take a lead role and assist in supporting in all aspects of the service users assessed needs, which may include.

To prepare and cook meals and drinks and offer support to service users that do their own meals, ensuring that each resident receives the meal or diet that he/she has requested and is suitable for his/her needs.

To carry out good food management, Temperature controls and documentation according to regulations.

Wash, dry and iron all linens and service users’ personal clothing with utmost care and support service users that wish to do their own laundry.

Adhere to health and safety and fire regulations and requirements.

To ensure all cleaning schedules are adhered to and risk assessments and guidelines are followed.

To help with the admission and discharge of residents, including listing of residents’ property/clothing.

To convey relevant information about the service users to the manager, in order that the individual plan of care may be regularly updated, and appropriate care is given, paying particular attention to any changes observed in the service users physical or psychological condition.

Maintain confidentiality regarding service users’ particulars.

Assist in activities within the Home or outside the home.

Report immediately to the manager, any accident or untoward incident, which may occur to a service user or a member of staff.

To act as key worker for specified service users.

To liaise with resident’s relatives, care managers and GP to deliver informed support.

To be a team player and role model.

To bring to the attention of the Management any deficits noted within the home.

To take part in reviews of clients as required by manager.

To always act in a professional manner to visitors, staff, and clients within the home.

To attend any training sessions to further knowledge skills as deemed necessary.

To undertake any other duties as required, in order to keep the home running smoothly, as delegated by the manager.

To help to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors, through awareness of health and safety policies and by attending training as required.

To attend appropriate training programmes/courses as available to further existing knowledge.

Answer the telephone, take clear messages, and contact the manager, if necessary.

Must have obtained or be working towards NVQ/QCF Level II,

Must have knowledge/training of the Care Certificate.

Must have demonstrated the ability to work both as a team member and on own initiative.

Must be prepared to attend such training sessions as are deemed necessary for the role.

Must demonstrate loyalty, flexibility and commitment to the care home.

Be able to carry out any other necessary duties as agreed with Manager

Pay: £13.71 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 per week
